Our women's health team and case load is growing and we're looking for a motivated and friendly physio to join our crew!
We are currently open to two scenarios:
- Are you an easy going yet highly professional and experienced musculoskeletal physio? Are you interested in women's health and enrolled in or have completed the APA Level 1 women's pelvic health course? Are you experienced in pilates instruction and trained in all the large pilates apparatus? This scenario looks like a full time role with a mentoring program on offer under a masters level pelvic health physio.
- Are you an experienced women's health physio keen to work with a collaborative team and in an environment with complementary services to support and build your case load? (pre and post natal pilates, clinical and group exercise across the life span, workshops, remedial massage. This scenario could look like a part time or full time role, with the opportunity to weave pilates and clinical exercise along with education/mentoring into the schedule. Ongoing support and development would be provided under a masters level pelvic health physio.

A little more about the Studio: celebrating its 10th year in operation, The Studio is a private practice in Sydney's Inner West, 5 mins from the CBD. The Studio is ever evolving with a determination to create a positive environment that makes you genuinely happy to come to work each day. The Studio has a dynamic and supportive team with patient centred focus it's number one mantra. The team includes MSK Physiotherapist's (all with Clinical Pilates teaching experience), Women's/Pelvic Health Physiotherapists, a massage therapist and group fitness and Pilates instructors. A fresh, modern space, The Studio is a pleasure to work in with bright natural light, spacious treatment rooms, rehab and class areas, premium equipment and a delightful balcony with a view, providing the perfect morning coffee and lunch spot.
The Studio clients are a mixed caseload of the local community; mostly able bodied weekend warriors, retired locals and pre and post-natal women. Pregnancy and Women's Health is a huge focus area; all practitioners working towards a common goal - to empower women throughout all stages of life, in particular during pregnancy and post-partum; baby visits are a common occurrence!
About the role
What will the job look like?
Scenario 1:
- Independently assess and treat MSK patients (45minute Initial appointments, 45 and 30minute follow ups)
- Conduct Clinical Pilates Initial Assessments with the use of Real Time Ultrasound (previous experience preferred but not necessary)
- Teach Private and Semi-Private Pilates Classes (1:1, 2:1 or 4:1) using various Pilates apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector & Balls/Bands etc) // will need to be a master multi-tasker
- Teach Group Reformer, Mat Pilates and Mums n Bubs Group Classes; must be comfortable interacting with babies and children and confident in group communication/instruction
- Participate in team continued education and regular case study conversations
- Use down time for continued self development and Studio community interaction (posts for socials, blogs, participate in Studio classes, take initiative and help out with general daily tasks)
Scenario 2:
- Independently assess and treat women's health patients (60minute Initial appointments, 45 and 30minute follow ups). Option to also take on a MSK caseload if appropriate.
- Participate in the hosting of pelvic health education workshops; birth education, community sessions supporting pre and post-natal women, menopause education.
- Teach pre and post-natal group and clinical exercise classes
- Engage in team education, provide mentoring and receive support for individual development

Job requirements box:
What does The Studio want from you?
- Minimum 2 years Private Practice Experience required, see above for further specifics
- Confidence with Musculoskeletal Assessment, diagnosis and hands on therapy (dry needling experience preferred however not required)
- Clinical Pilates training & experience working with Pilates Equipment required
- Experience and confidence teaching group classes (eg Mat and Reformer Pilates)
- Experience teaching classes for Pre/Post Natal women
- Good time management skills and able to multi-task
- Takes initiative, sees a task and gets it done, must be a ‘goer’
- Confident, friendly and motivated
