Company Overview
Miami Physiotherapy (Falcon) was established in June 2006 by Shelley Sloper. Shelley opened a second clinic – our Miami Physiotherapy (Lakelands) clinic in 2017 (Formally Lakelands Physiotherapy).
Shelley continues to direct the practices with a team of 6 additional physiotherapists, 3 remedial massage therapists and 2 additional pilates instructors, ensuring we can offer more appointment options and guaranteeing same day appointments across both our locations. We are open from Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm, and Saturdays from 8am til 12noon.
We feel it is important that patients understand their diagnosis, prognosis and are actively involved in their physiotherapy management including collaboratively setting their health goals. We value manual therapy, patient education and exercise prescription and feel that this combination achieves the best results by meeting the expectations of our patients and achieving higher compliance with their rehabilitation programs. We strongly encourage professional development of our therapists and clinical integration of evidence based practice.
Our patients seek our help for various reasons – injury, pain (acute and chronic), movement dysfunction, wanting to achieve physical or health goals, and ultimately to live the best healthy life they can. Some patients require more time than others, and we are happy to allocate longer treatment times as is required/preferred to achieve the best outcomes. We also allocate admin time so that our therapists can complete their admin tasks within the work day. We accept private patients, as well as EPC (with GAP payments and some bulk-billing arrangements), ICWA, WC, DVA and are registered with NDIS. We also offer occasional home visits where we feel this is essential to the patient's health/rehabilitation.
Our Falcon clinic is situated in a purpose built building with a pilates/gym rehab area, open group exercise area, hydro pool and modern private clinic rooms.
Between the 2 locations we have grown to a happy team of 20 staff and together we try to bring a smile and make someone's day a little bit better! Our aim is to help Mandurah people recover from injury and maximise their health so they can live their best lives.
