SCHS is a dynamic organisation promoting health, wellbeing and independence in a social model of health to prevent illness, disease and injury. Influencing the agenda for health policy, providing access and equity to health services for our community and encouraging innovation and flexibility to ensure services match community need is a priority. SCHS delivers services across a wide clinical scope, including Allied Health, Community Nursing, Family and Child Health and the Primary Urgent Care Clinic.
Company History
SCHS emerged during the introduction of the national Community Health Program in 1973, which aimed to shift healthcare focus from treatment to prevention. Established in the mid-1970s and celebrating 50+ years of service, Sunraysia Community Health Services (SCHS) in Mildura, Victoria, is a major public health provider focusing on preventative care and addressing health inequities. Originally starting in Merbein, the organization grew to offer over 50 services, including a 2016 expansion to a main hub on Thirteenth Street.

The organisation is a source of primary and preventive care for our community members who are at risk of poor health outcomes, and experience acute health disparities. SCHS understands the influence of the Social Determinants of Health upon health inequities experienced by community members and work with consumers and community members, to structure their care around the context in which they live and work.
