Movement For Life Physiotherapy is the largest private provider of physiotherapy services in the Northern Territory.  As the only Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) Accredited Physiotherapy clinic in the Top End, we have a clear capacity to manage the provision of a diverse and practicable physiotherapy service to a wide variety of clientele.  

Movement For Life Physiotherapy has a long history of providing physiotherapy services to fit, active people, as well as those suffering longer term injuries and disease.  Our background and extensive training in Sports Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal Health, Orthopaedics, Post-Surgical Rehabilitation and Return to Work programs places us in a great position to be able to assist people from all walks of life.

Movement For Life Physiotherapy is committed to providing high quality physiotherapy services and has structured its workforce and facilities to achieve this, including a long-standing guarantee of an appointment within 24 hours or the next business day.  With multiple locations, longer opening times and weekend appointments available, Territorians can be confident of seeing a qualified, registered physiotherapist quickly.

Over the past 13 years, Movement For Life Physiotherapy has provided physiotherapy services without prejudice to people of all ages and backgrounds.  As primary contact practitioners, our area of expertise is the assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal injuries.  At Movement For Life Physiotherapy we are adept at acquiring a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the needs of the cohort at hand, as well as considering the capacity and requirements of each individual.  We have, with numerous groups, developed and delivered specific manual handling training, conducted screening programs to identify pre-existing conditions and proactively managed identified risk factors to minimise the chance of injury occurring.  In addition we have the capacity to provide broader education to individuals and community groups and review personal physical fitness programs with a view to reducing injury risk.

At Movement For Life Physiotherapy we recognise that the best outcomes are achieved through fostering client autonomy and clear communication with all parties.  To this end, we liaise closely with individual clients, doctors and surgeons and other agreed to parties in an effort to deliver the most appropriate intervention in an effective and efficient manner.

Company History

In 2004, Darwin Private Physiotherapy, a clinic established at Darwin Private Hospital in the early 1990's to service hospital inpatients, was purchased by Nick and Sally Jones. As physiotherapists, Nick and Sally identified the possibility to expand outpatient services at DPH and improve upon the current inpatient service.

The establishment of strong networks with local GP's, surgeons and consultants, and a thorough commitment to the highest standard of medical ethics and service delivery saw the business grow rapidly. In 2006 they added the slogan "Movement For Life" to their business name, before changing the business name to Movement For Life Physiotherapy Pty Ltd around 2008.

In 2011, Movement For Life Physiotherapy became the first physiotherapy clinic north of Alice Springs to receive QIP Accreditation for its Tiwi clinic. In 2014, they achieved QIP Accreditation for all three clinics and remain the only physiotherapy clinic in the Top End of Australia to hold this qualification.

In 2016 Movement For Life Physiotherapy ceased services at Darwin Private Hospital and relocated their clinic in Palmerston to a new facility in Rosebery. They continue to forge new relationships with the broader Top End community and via their two locations provide a broad range of musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy services to the greater Darwin area.
